The space required around a ping pong table isn’t set in stone for home use, but a good starting point in terms of minimum space requirements – still leading to a hampered level of game movement would be to allow space for 1.5 x the length and width of the table tennis table in addition to the ping pong table itself.
So for example;
The table is 6 ft wide
1.5 x 6ft = 9ft
9ft of free space + 6 ft table width = 15ft of free space
That’s a LOT of space for a hampered game!
Ideally you’d have at least 2 x the width and length available for freedom of movement when playing table tennis.
